Pre-Game Report: First Away Game at Altitude FC

The first away game of the season is here! The teams are travelling to play Altitude FC tomorrow, Sunday April 20, their second game of the 2025 season. Both games will be livestreamed on League1 BC’s YouTube channel.

League1 rookie Ella Ashfield just finished her first year at UVic, and this weekend is her first game with the Nanaimo United ladies: 

I’m nervous but I’m excited to play with a new group of girls. I just finished my first year at UVic so I’m excited to continue playing soccer over the summer and to keep improving. The summer has always been sort of like an off period, getting ready for preseason. This is gonna be a lot different - I’m excited to go into the 2025 League1 season.

It may be an away game weekend, but Nanaimo United is still bringing the hype! This Sunday, the club is hosting its inaugural youth viewing party. Kids from all different programs are banding together for a mini 5-a-side tournament, then are reconvening in the clubhouse for snacks and to watch the League1 livestreams! With 40 kids registered, the clubhouse is going to be an action and cheer hotspot.
