The jerseys have arrived, the players are polishing their boots, Nanaimo United’s League1 staff can’t sit still - it’s game week! The time has finally come. Nanaimo United’s 2025 League1 BC season commences this Saturday April 12, with the women kicking off at 1 PM. The men will follow right after at 3:30 PM.

There will be three food trucks to choose from, Tacomania, Pepper Pot, and Mizu Real Fruit Ice Cream, as well as a beer garden hosted by Wolf Brewing. A FunZone will be set up for our youngsters, who all have their tickets covered this year by our sponsors (up to 18 years old)! An affordable, fun-filled weekend for everyone!

The League1 season started last week with TSS Rovers FC and the new Evolution FC squads going head to head last Friday, and Altitude FC, the Vancouver Rise Academy, and the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy facing off on Sunday.

Both the men’s and women’s TSS versus Evolution games were hard fought. How will we match up with Evolution this Saturday? Come on down to the Q’unq’inuqwstuwx Stadium and find out!

With only one weekend of games completed, the 2025 season has already shown itself to be a different ball game than last year. The Rise Academy, formerly the women’s Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, went unbeaten last season but have started this season with a loss. Both the men’s Vancouver Whitecaps Academy and Rise lost to Altitude. Will they bounce back and be the powerhouse they were last year, or have the other League1 BC women’s teams risen to the challenge and are hungry for that top spot on the leaderboard?

A note from Nanaimo United’s Executive Director:

There is always a lot of work that goes on in preparation for a new season, but as the kick-off approaches, we can’t help but get excited! It’s going to be great to host Evolution FC for their first away game. We remember our first game as an expansion team so we’re excited to be a part of the continued growth in the league. Our coaches are ready, our players are ready, our fans are ready - let’s go!

Get your match day tickets here, or if you want to catch all 16 home games, 8 weekends of excitement, the best bang for your buck is the season pass. Check it out!

See you at the stadium!
