May 31 Pregame Report: At Rise and the Whitecaps

It’s game day! This weekend marks round 9 of the 2025 League1 season and the squads are on their way to Vancouver, ready to compete. Their opponent this week: Vancouver Rise and the Whitecaps Academy.

Livestreams of the games will be available here. The women’s game starts at 12:30 PM and the men follow at 3 PM.

From Nanaimo grassroots soccer to League1 starter - Declan Brown

It’s been a solid week of training and the women are buzzing with energy - the past few weeks of great performances and growth makes every upcoming game an exciting unknown. How will they match up against Rise, who currently sit third overall? Coach Bobbie Taylor says that the ladies are “excited for the challenge of playing another quality team. We’re very aware that they are a young, dynamic team so staying switched on in and out of possession will be important. We want to keep the flow of our excellent compete level going.”
