Tomorrow is game day 12 of 16 and Nanaimo United is heading over to the mainland to face expansion team Langley United. This is their last away game after 3 weeks on the road before they’re back on home turf next weekend against the Vancouver Whitecaps and Rise FC.

The lads.
The lads.

“I'm very excited going into this weekend after our win last weekend,” said midfielder Alex Paul.

“Spirits have been quite high at practices and we’re ready to head to Langley and really take it to them since we tied last time we met. Everyone seems super excited to battle it out again and I'm super excited for what the weekend brings us.”

Coach Bobbie Taylor noted that “The team is feeling good coming off the weekend with a win and combining some solid composure and grit. We’re looking to build on that consistency.” With over half a season of play in the legs, the ladies are ready to rumble and take on whatever Langley throws at them.

Will we see more celebrations like this when the squads are in Langley this weekend? Stay tuned!

Midfielder Gabe Altomare gave us an insight on how the men are feeling:

“As a squad we are all really looking forward to our game this weekend against Langley! We’ve continued developing as a unit and have seen improvements in our game week after week. This game is another opportunity to showcase that against a tough opponent!”

“Langley is having a very good season considering it’s their first one - we have a lot of respect for what they are doing over there,” said coach Kevin Lindo. “Every week we feel in with a shout as we have a team that is very capable and very much together, despite the tough results we’ve had. The boys have trained very well this week, we have a few guys back from injury and will be raring to go.”

On the men’s side, Langley sits second in the league, only two points behind TSS. As coach Lindo said, the men have been showing up in practice, putting the work in, and are up to this weekend’s challenge. Go get’em!

United!
