The Whitecaps and Rise FC are coming to town! Grab your sunscreen and your closest soccer-loving pal and head to Q’unq’inuqwstuxw Stadium on Saturday July 5 - the women’s squad kick-offs at 12 PM and the men follow at 2:30 PM.

There are only 4 more games left in the 2025 League1 season, 2 of which are home games. Women’s forward, Bronté Fitzsimmons, filled us in on how the ladies are feeling going into this weekend and the final month of games:
I think we're feeling pretty good as a team as long as we work together. And work hard for 90 minutes and play the way we know how to play. I think we'll be able to manage well against these girls.
I've been really enjoying my time playing for Nanaimo United FC, coming in as one of the older players, they've really made the atmosphere something fun and something that you want to be around, which I haven't had for a very long time. And it's really nice to fall back in love with the game again, as well as have the girls want it as much as you want it. We all work and we all are trying to get that W.
These girls are a team, but I also feel like we've become a family on and off the pitch. That's something that is really hard to come by on some teams.

The Vancouver Whitecaps men’s academy is sitting mid-table at this point in the season. On the women’s side, Rise FC is ranked second in the league. Both Nanaimo teams are up to the challenge and can’t wait to see you out at Q’unq’inuqwstuxw Stadium.
United!
