The Nanaimo squads are off to Coquitlam today to compete against Evolution FC! The men are still riding a high after their 3-1 win against the Whitecaps last weekend. Can they carry that momentum into their game against Evolution? The women have continued to look solid, despite their 2-1 loss against Rise FC last weekend and have posed a threat in all their recent games.

“We are looking forward to building on some quality play last weekend despite the score,” said women’s coach Bobbie Taylor. “We’re looking to continue on the upward trend we’ve been experiencing and bring home 3 points this weekend as we close out the season,” added goalkeeper Kaiden Thorpe. Coach Taylor noted that against Rise, the ladies “bought in as a team and got better and better throughout the game which is super positive. If we put things together with our counter attack we should give them a good game.”

On the women’s side, Altitude FC has already secured first place - the rest of the teams now race to lock in the best spot they can in the league rankings. It’s crunch time and every point counts. Let the battles begin!

This weekend is the second to last away game of the year for Nanaimo United and it will no doubt be action packed! All the teams have had 13 weeks to gel and work on their game - the best is to come as the season comes to a close.
